December 29 was Nicole’s 1st birthday! :) I didn’t have the time to blog about it because I’ve been busy lately.

We’ve attended several birthday parties but most of the time the celebrant is not enjoying the party. So my hubby and I decided to celebrate it at home to have unlimited time and accommodate more guests! We have the food catered by the same one who did her baptism (Christine’s Catering) and Claycakes by Karla Magbanua for her cake!  Our theme is pooh & friends in a safari setting but my hubby wants Lumpy to be on our cake so here it is! Isn’t it cute??!! Wait until you have it tasted! :) It’s so heavenly! hhhhmmm… I can still recall it’s chocolatey taste!

FYI: Karla also made our wedding cake and all of our guests loved it! The texture is so firm and rich! The taste is awesome! It’s all worth the price! :)

We had our baby checked up again today and thank God her lungs are still clear. As per her Pedia, the sound that we’re hearing when she breathe is her colds. I hope both of us would be ok tomorrow so we could start our bazaar this coming Saturday. :)

During our stay in Palawan, I was so thankful that my baby didn’t catch any illness. She was such a strong baby but of course she also has her limits. Today is supposed to be our office’s Christmas party. My hubby and I were not able to attend it because our baby is sick. A lot of people are getting sick with our current weather and that includes us! :( I feel really bad every time I see her sniff and cough. She started to have cough and colds last Sunday so we had her checked up by a pedia in DLS-STI Megamall the following day. The pedia says that her lungs are clear and she was prescribed to take Disudrin and Ascorbic Acid. Take note that this is not her original pedia. Her main pedia would not recommend any cough and cold medicines  because of it’s effects. Still we tried to give her Disudrin because we couldn’t stand looking at her all sick! If her condition didn’t improve tomorrow, I’ll be absent from work again and have her original pedia check her out. I am still thankful that she doesn’t have any fever because that would make matters worse!

Shopping shoes for my hubby is really a pain in the ass. It’s hard to get a size that would fit his flat footed feet! The last pair of shoes that he bought was made by Kickers. I thought it would last long because it costs a lot. But recently, the sole was detached! We are actually a bit disappointed because he just had it for almost two years! We were like expecting it to last for three more years! :) Anyway, since he wants to get a tough, construction type, all weather shoes,  he’s eyeing on getting a pair from Dr. Marten’s or Caterpillar. We started to look in different malls like Trinoma and SM City North Edsa but the type of shoes that he likes does not have his size. I told him that we could probably try to look for people who do customized shoes.

As I’m surfing the web, I came across Work Boots USA which has a wide collection of boots. This would be the type of shoes he needs! Work Boots USA offers top quality footwear at a very affordable price. It is an essential piece for every blue collar out there! They offer protection as well as comfort and function to complete one’s task. Imagine yourself getting injured on your foot. Surely, we would not let that happen! For us to perform the work in hand, we need the proper working shoes. One of the brands that you can find in the site is the 5.11 Tactical Boots . It has a Shock Mitigation System technology that makes it different from other types of footwear in the market. It features a carbon based rubber outsole, phylon mid sole, hypertex lasting board, nylon flex-fit composite shank, 4-layer insole system and a Lunar lining. This technology also makes the shoe lightweight, durable, comfortable and gives you optimal speed to get the job going.

I just watched this game show earlier and I find it embarrassing for the contestants and their friends/relatives. The Moment of Truth is an American game show hosted by Mark Walberg. In order to win the jackpot prize of $500,000, contestant must answer all 21 questions truthfully. Before the actual show, the contestant will be asked more than 50 questions while he/she is hooked up in a polygraph. Only 21 of those will be asked on the show. The higher the pot money is, the questions will be more personal and embarrassing! I don’t know if you will like this show but I enjoyed watching it! :) I don’t want to be a contestant though ‘coz I’m really such a sensitive person. :)

I’m supposed to take up BS Computer Science when I was in College but decided to take BS Computer Engineering instead. With my course, my knowledge in programming is very limited. I’ve always envied and symphatize at the same time those people who do programming. I envied them because they can make their own software and make things automated. I also symphatize with them because they bring their work at home and they’re debugging even in their dreams! :) I guess some people just find it challenging to do programming. If you’re up to the challenge, why don’t you join the IDUG contest ? This contest is aimed for familiarization of XQuery, XML and DB2. Developers like students, professionals and hobbyist should join this contest to further improve their skills. The great thing about this contest is it has 5 separate tracks with varying skill levels! So you don’t have to worry if you don’t know anything about these programming languages. You can join the video contest wherein you can just upload a video and it will be judged by the community, create a small widget/gadget in the gadget contest, answer a series of questions in the XQuery Challenge, port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2 in the Port an application contest or develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery in the Develop an application contest!

What are you waiting for? Join now so you could win exciting prizes! :)

It’s been 15 months now since our last trip. I’m so excited and I can’t wait for November 25 to come. That would be the day where we will go to Coron, Palawan! I’m going with my hubby, our baby (Nicole) and my in-laws! I actually started packing last night. (LOL, not so excited huh?!) I’m actually like that every time we will go somewhere because I don’t want to miss anything! Hopefully our baby will cooperate and will not do any tamtrums! :) She’s on the stage of separation anxiety but since my MIL will be with us, I hope all of us will still have a great time! This would be my baby’s first time to travel at a long distance and first time to ride a plane! I don’t know what would be her reaction. Based from what I’ve read, in order to minimize the pain of ear pressure for our babies, we should give them something to suck with like nurse them during take off and landing.

These are the things that I have packed for my baby:

  • Lots of toys to keep them entertained.
  • Dr. Edward’s water (around 10 bottles)
  • traveling spoon, fork and cup
  • first aid kid (thermometer, band aid, gauze, micro pore tape, betadine, hydrogen peroxide,
  • medicines/ointment (Tempra, Pedialyte, drapolene, hydrocortisone)
  • Banana boat baby block sunscreen lotion SPF 50
  • insect repellant
  • lots of diapers
  • rashguard / waterproof shoes
  • onesies / hat

So far, these are the things that I have listed. If you think I missed something, please leave a comment. :)

We’ve been teaching our baby how to kiss. At first, she will place her forehead on your cheek if you’re asking to be kissed. But ever since she learned how to kiss properly, she will kiss anything from us (her parents) and even her toys. :) Like the one shown in this video.

Before getting pregnant, loosing weight has always been a problem for me. I want to be slim but I’m so lazy to do some work out. My hubby and I even enrolled ourselves in a gym but we tend to eat more because we’re too tired and hungry! We also tried removing rice in our diet but it only lasted for 2 days! :) During my pregnancy, I gave up dieting and started to eat what’s good for me and my baby. After giving birth, I was expecting that my belly would be back to its normal shape. As other moms told me, its not going to happen overnight! :)

If I was too lazy to work out before pregnancy, what more if I have a baby to take care of??!! :) Aside from being slothful, I really didn’t have the luxury of time to do some exercises! But I’ve read from a website that you don’t need to exercise in order for you to be slim. Such method is called the Flat Belly Diet . Who would have thought that eating dark chocolates is your way to get thin?! If you think this would help you gain your confidence back, just fill up their application form and receive a free book which contains details of this program. :)

We’ll be joining another bazaar this coming December 13 - 14 at La Vista Clubhouse, Katipunan. Admission is free and you can visit us from 9am - 7pm.

Taken from: Eventions

La Vista is a high-end village with over 300 residents. The subdivision also serves as a gateway to Loyola Grand Villas (you must enter the La Vista gate to get to LGV), which is home to more than 600 families. Aside from this, the bazaar venue is strategically located near Sta. Maria Dela Strada, where over 10,000 parishioners attend mass every weekend. In the past year, we have also gotten a lot of foot traffic from the nearby villages such as Xavierville, Ayala Heights, Varsity Hills, Blue Ridge and Capitol Hills.

So come and join us in this special event!

This is the phone that I got as a promo of HSBC and SUN Cellular plan 350. It looks elegant and stylish but when you turn it on, don’t expect to see cool graphics and interface. This would be my first Samsung phone because I’ve always been a Sony Ericsson fan. I’m still getting used to navigating the menu and texting. What I love about this phone is its aesthetc features. But be careful in handling it though because it’s such a scratch and finger print magnet! :) Better protect the screen with an LCD film. The camera is also disappointing because it’s just VGA. Anyway, I already have a digicam and a handycam so this would serve just a regular phone for me. I may not get the Omnia but this will do! :)

Finally, I’m now a SUN cellular subscriber! LOL

I enrolled my hubby with HSBC last September because they have this promo wherein you can get a Samsung SGH-M620 if you apply for  a HSBC credit card. I was happy when he received his card so I asked him to activate it ASAP! We went to Megamall to claim the phone in their SUN cellular center but my hubby got irritated with their customer service. After filling up some forms, he was told by one lady to go back after an hour to get the phone. So, we strolled around cyberzone and helped my friend look for a good laptop to buy. After buying the laptop of her choice, we went back to SUN center and a different lady told him that he cannot get the phone today and that activation takes effect after 24hrs. So he walked out the center without the phone and raging mad! So as not to further aggravate him, I didn’t ask anything anymore even though I was truly disappointed.

After a few weeks, I received a call from HSBC and said that I was qualified for their RED master card. I know I already a HSBC Mabuhay Miles card, but I still agreed to apply for a RED master card. After a few weeks, I received my new card and was so happy when I saw the coupon for the Samsung SGH-M20. I activated the card the next day and I only had the chance to drop by in the SUN shop at Trinoma last Sunday. The lady who accommodated me was excellent. She answered all of my questions politely and I only waited for like 15mins. to get my phone. I only have one comment though about the lady who gave me the phone. She was talking too fast as she explains the terms and warranty of their plan. The tone was very monotonous as if she was a robot! :) Actually, I didn’t catch everything that she says! Although the graphics are not that good, I’m still happy that I have a new phone! :)

This was taken last Sunday when we went to Shangrila. I only had the time to upload it today. :) Anyway, while Nicole and I were waiting for our order in Wendy’s we were playing “show me your tongue”. Aside from her usual “beautiful eyes” act, this is her version of showing her tongue. :)

This afternoon I went to Trinoma to check the prices of items that I have for the bazaar and to avail HSBC’s promo on getting a SAMSUNG M620 with Sun Cellular. On my way to SUN center, camera bags in infomaxx caught my attention as I’ve been searching for the perfect bag for our Sony HDR-SR10. I’ve checked almost all of their bags and I was torn between the one with all weather camera bag of Tamrac (Php 2500) and the Lowepro Cirrus 140 (Php 2600). I finally decided to get the Lowepro because it’s bigger than the Tamrac. It has enough room for our Handycam, Digicam and their corresponding accessories (battery, charger and  memory cards). What I love about this bag is it is very well padded. Surely, it will keep your camera safe from impact! :)
