Based from Wikipedia, Philippines is the fourth largest Catholic nation in the world, after Brazil, Mexico and the United States. The first sacrament that every Catholic should receive is Holy Baptism. Nicole had hers last March 1, 2008. While other moms celebrate their babies’ baptism lavishly, we just opted to spend ours in our home. She was baptized in Our Lady of Annunciation Parish and our food was catered by a family friend. The food was great! Our souvenirs and invitation was custom-made by me & my hubby. Almost all of our invited relatives, friends & neighbors came over.
Morning of March 1, we were all busy preparing. I bathe Nicole as soon as she woke up and dressed her in her baptism outfit. Took my bath while Nico (my hubby) look after Nicole. At 10:15am, we went to the church, met my parents and Nicole’s Godparents. We started 10mins. after the actual ceremony because her two Godmothers were late! I was standing half of the time ‘coz Nicole won’t stop crying. She was irritated because it was her nap time plus her lacy dress! It would have been awkward if the ceremony is not special (solo). I was practically swaying and singing in her ear so she could fall asleep. She was already half asleep when the traditional picture taking of Godparents with the baby started. I know it’s very annoying for her to be passed from one Godparent to another so we just made it quick.

When we arrived home, everyone’s excited to see her and have her picture taken. She was fascinated with all the people around her. That was the first time that she’ve seen a lot of people. Nico’s aunt took Nicole so I could eat. She was so tired, she fell asleep. They took Nicole in our room so she could lie down and rest while Nico & I entertain our guests. I was pleased that almost all of our LYNX family. It has been a long time since we’ve all met! Finally, the day has come to an end… My mom slept in our room (with me & Nicole) while Nico temporarily slept in the next room. It’s been a tiring day but we had a lot of fun! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………..
