Our Macbook’s keyboard is acting funny!
I need help in resolving my issue with my macbook’s keyboard! I’ve tried almost everything that I found on the web but nothing helps! Hope there’s someone out there who could help me.
Here are it’s symptoms:
- CAPS lock automatically turn on on reboot
- CAPS lock function in reverse (types small letters when CAPS lock is on, types capital letters when it’s off)
- Special characters are assigned to different keys. Like when it’s supposed to display $ it will show @.
- Typing letters are still ok.
I tried googling for a solution but nothing worked! I’m done doing the following:
- power cycle (shut down/restart)
- made sure I have sticky keys turned off
- reset the PRAM (press and hold command + shift + P + R on reboot before the gray screen starts)
- resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
- inserted the disk and checked hardware diagnositcs but it reported that it did not detect any problem
- Tried MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1 but it won’t let me install. It says my computer doesn’t need the upgrade!
If you have any suggestions, you can comment in here…
